Course Overview

This 1-day course is aimed at giving attendees a solid foundation in the world of Social Media (it is aimed at beginner-intermediate users). It provides an equal balance of interactive presentation and discussion on the social media channels that organisations should be starting to use in their marketing mix. We have run this course for 10 years in London and trained over 800 people. The course is updated every month which means that you get to see the very latest application of Social Media tools like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and others.

Topics Covered

Social Media Themes 

Our first session looks at the key concepts of Social Media and how it differs from other forms of marketing (both online and offline). We will also look at the SOSTAC Planning Methodology, Search Engine Optimisation and discover why the principles of SEO are important for social media marketing. This session provides a solid foundation for the rest of the day.


This session really does lift the lid on Twitter and looks at the many ways companies can use it. We look at timelines, tweets, replies, retweets, hashtags, links, lists, images, video, advertising, analytics and much more through a mix of case studies and real-time examples.


Explore how your organisation can leverage the power of Facebook to improve its marketing efforts? We look at Pages and Advertising and explore how companies are using updates, events, apps, video and more for customer engagement, customer care, sales promotion, sales, announcements, branding, leads and many other applications.


Blogging has undoubtedly been the driving force behind social media adoption and many organisations – in both private & public sector, government and education use them. This session looks at how companies use them and how you could benefit from them.

Video and Image Sharing

YouTube, Instagram and Flickr are the biggest websites containing videos and images on the web. So, how are organisations using these tools to engage their audiences and to reach new prospects. We look at channels, hashtags, embedding, styles and more.


LinkedIn is one of the biggest Professional Networking sites in the world. So, how does an organisation use it to develop new contacts, to enhance the online image of their company, to talk and engage with their peers and to advertise to specific audiences? We also look at how indivduals can enhance their professional image on this platform.


Our London courses cost £295 per person and include:

  • Access to a password-protected Social Media blog which features videos, articles, podcasts, videocasts, PowerPoint slides, book links and more.
  • Refreshments are available throughout the day and lunch is served in the on-site restaurant.
